Visit the port of Limon and Cahuita National Park with it's tropical beaches and unique Caribbean flavor. Enjoy the scenic "Coconut highway" through Coconut groves, with the waves and beaches of the Caribbean close by, to the southern Caribbean town and beaches of Cahuita and maybe the Cahuita Beach National Park with Puerto Vargas sector beaches that protects Costa Rica’s biggest coral reef as another option. Visit the coastal town of Puerto Viejo and if time allows Punta Uva and Manzanillo beaches both within the lush greenery of the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. 1 Day and overnight tours toTORTUGUERO National Park on the Northern Caribbean Coast.
Bus from San José then covered motorboat and back. Known as our Amazon of Costa Rica, accessible only by boat (or by air), is an important Sea Turtle Nesting Beach. Here you will likely see several species such as crocodiles, toucans, monkeys, slots, macaws, iguanas among other wildlife.
From July to October the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) nest on Tortuguero's 21 miles of beach, the largest nesting site of the western hemisphere and is considered the most important nesting site on the western half of the Caribbean for the green turtle that comes to this beach to nest every year.
Other species of sea turtles also nest at different times of the year along the park's long beach stretch.
